Update on NC Courts and COVID-19
Siemens Family Law Group Clients and Friends,
We want to share with you the latest updates from Chief Justice Beasley as the court system begins to hear more of the cases that have been postponed due to the pandemic. The latest overview of court-related COVID-19 updates, orders and resources can be found on the NC Courts website here: https://www.nccourts.gov/covid-19.
We are optimistic that more issues will begin to be addressed in court again starting in June, but those court sessions will look different than what we are accustomed to, and many issues may be addressed online through teleconference rather than in the courtroom.
Chief Justice Beasley’s latest orders include extensions of directives that allow us to continue to operate with reduced contact, including alternatives to notarizing signatures for court documents.
We will continue to keep you updated on a case-by-case basis, and we remain available to you by email, phone and video conference during normal business hours. We are committed to continuing to move your case forward using the best practices known to us.
